The Dudley Boyz are a tag team who personify the word 'Extreme'. Tables are a guarantee in their matches, with Bubba leading now the famous call - 'D-Von Get The Tables!'. Before joining the WWE, the Dudleys spent four years in the Philadelphia-based Extreme Championship Wrestling promotion. Buh Buh Ray joined up first, and D-Von came shortly after. |
- Whilst there, they built up an entire entourage that joined them during their appearances. D-Von and Bubba Ray, though, were the two constant and most talented of the group. Needless to say, a Dudley's 'Family Reunion' would be something special. The Dudleys competed in some of the most crazy matches ever in ECW, throwing their opponents through flaming tables on occasion. In addition, their finisher, 3D - the Dudley Death Drop - is one of the most feared maneuvers in the world. The Dudley Boyz have fought competition from around the globe, and have come out on top nearly every time. D-Von and Bubba Ray were the most accomplished team in ECW history, capturing the Tag Team Titles on 8 separate occasions.
When they joined the WWE, many were concerned how the then very controversial and offensive Dudley's would fit into things. But consquent tag team title victories of such great teams as The Hardy Boyz, Edge & Christian, and Kane & Undertaker soon put paid to such concerns. Yes, Bubba had a major passion at one point for putting women wrestling personalities through tables; but that has been calmed down in recent times quite possibly due to television network complaints and censorship.
Currently adored by WWE fans worldwide, The Dudley's show no sign of slowing down and are considered the best tag team of recent times; being (and they will stay through the demise of WCW and ECW) the only team to hold gold in WWE, WCW, and ECW and this guarantees their place in professional wrestling history.
