"We have our own style of music," said James, "even though we have been compared to Cold Play, Coral and The Doors. We use all of our musical influences to make the music and we can't be pinned to any type."
"The band are writing together and this has caused a great style of music that will rule the world!"
James has his own record label, Cannon Ball Records. "If I didn't think that Hanky Park would work I wouldn't have pumped all the money into the record label. We are looking to sign other bands too; we can help them, explain things to them. Record labels are usually scams and can rip new bands off."

"The video was shot in Salford," said James. "I live there, so I know all the derelict areas, which were great for the video."
The video was produced by Barry George. "He came up from London and we thought out the theme between the two of us." James said. "I'd spent five days in Magaluf and when I came home I spent 12 hours acting. I was shattered."
Hanky Park are managed by Eddie Blaney. "He left The Fall about a year ago and started managing us." said James. "He does stuff, but I am the main spokesman for the band." |
The band headlined Party in the Park in Wythenshawe in June 2003. "We played Love will Tear us Apart with Peter Hook [an original member of Joy Division]. It was fantastic," recalled James.
The next gig for Hanky Park is at the Beer Kellar in Manchester on 12th September 2003. "They are changing their name to COOL,"
James told me, "and they have asked if we can play there on the opening night." Hanky Park are a talented and determined band, prepared to take on anything thrown at them.
"We're fully loaded," said James, "and even recording four tracks of the second album before the first one is released. This will give us even more ammunition to take over the world."
